Unveiled: Flying Huntsman 110 6x6 Defender Double Cab Pickup Concept
21st Sep 2015
British automotive fashion house Kahn Design once again displayed a range of Land Rover Defenders at this year’s Land Rover Owners Show in Peterborough.
This year the company has ventured into coach building special edition Defenders under the Flying Huntsman brand. The first concept vehicle, the Flying Huntsman 110 WB 6x6 Defender was premiered to the world’s press at the Geneva Motor Show in March of this year.
The latest iconic Flying Huntsman creation, which was unveiled at the LRO show this weekend, is the 110 6x6 Defender Double Cab Pickup. The vehicle was revealed for the first time in the main arena, and was then be available to view on the Kahn Design stand for the remainder of the weekend.
Kahn have revealed that the vehicle will be available in both manual 6 speed and automatic 4 or 6 speed variants, in LHD and RHD, and with a range of engine options available. The base model, a 2.2L diesel 6 speed manual variant will start at £99,875 + VAT, a significantly lower price than its sister vehicle which debuted at Geneva.
As with all of Kahn’s coachbuilt vehicles, each will come adorned with a plaque naming each of the British team of automotive craftsmen involved in the build. With the company planning to build only 20 vehicles per year these new models look likely to be snapped up quickly, and are likely to prove an attractive prospect for investors and collectors alike.
As well as the launch of the new Flying Huntsman model, visitors to the Kahn Design stand were able to view a selection of Chelsea Truck Company Wide Track Defenders, showcasing the company’s famous luxury interiors in hand stitched leather and British tweed, complemented by aggressive exterior styling and Kahn’s famed wheel designs.
