Evanta Barchetta 6.2L to be unveiled at Goodwood Revival
10th Sep 2014
British custom motorcar designer Evanta Motor Company will unveil the first production model of the Evanta Barchetta 6.2L at the Goodwood Revival motor show this week.
The Evanta Barchetta is a 2-seater open top speedster, inspired by the design language of 1950s motorsport. Its sleek, sweeping curves and low profile disclose its Anglo-Italian parentage.
The formal unveiling will take place on Friday 12th September at Goodwood Revival, on stand 217/218, with members of the Evanta Barchetta production team along with Ant Anstead and Afzal Kahn in attendance.
Each vehicle is designed and built in Britain, and hand-crafted using traditional coach building methods, comprising a composite kevlar body, on a tubular frame. An alternative model will be available, with an aluminium body.
Following in the footsteps of its Le Mans winning ancestors, the Barchetta’s powerful 6.2L engine produces 450bhp, which, taking into account its light frame gives it exceptional agility.
The company will produce both left- and right-hand drive variants, and the Barchetta will be available with either an automatic or manual gearbox.
Production will be limited to 99 composite bodied vehicles and 49 aluminium bodied vehicles. The price, which is yet to be confirmed is expected to be around £125,000 for the composite and £165,000 for the aluminium variant.
The limited production run is likely to make the car an attractive prospect for collectors and investors alike, with the value expected to rise significantly towards the end of production.
Following the release of the Evanta Barchetta, the company has announced plans to launch a GT concept car in spring 2015.
