Unveiled: Chelsea Truck Company 2017 London Motor Show Edition
Mar 23, 2020
Production of the iconic Land Rover Defender came to a close in 2016; 68 years and two million units after the original Series 1 Land Rover had first rolled out of the factory.
To mark the Defender’s passing, the London Motor Show have once again commissioned Afzal Kahn to create a very special limited edition model, entitled the ‘London Motor Show Edition’, which is packed with features perfected over years of building finely crafted Land Rovers.
This Defender 90 model has been finished in French Racing Blue and has just been unveiled to the public at the 2017 London Motor Show.
Chelsea Truck Company’s signature wide arches with integrated vents and bolt apertures, and X-Lander grille ensure The End Edition really stands out in a crowd.
A stainless steel front bumper with Tron Ring lights, an aluminium sump guard and Shadow Chrome headlights have been added whilst mesh bonnet vents, toughened rubber mud flaps, dark tinted privacy glass, Chelsea Truck Company branding and spare wheel cover provide the finishing touches.
The running gear has been upgraded, too. The suspension is lifted with uprated gas shock absorbers and a new steering damper. 9x20-inch Mondial alloy wheels finished in Volcanic Black and wrapped in 275/55/20 tyres serve to sharpen the handling.
Furthermore, the 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine is capable of reaching 170 BHP thanks to the Chelsea Truck Company’s own power module, which plugs directly into the engine’s OEM connection points.
The interior is fitted out with a pair of heated GTB sports seats for driver and passenger, trimmed in quilted and perforated leather. The theme carries through to the second row seats, so all 5 passengers can travel in luxurious comfort.
Not only is it a fantastic car, the 2017 London Motor Show edition is also a great investment, according to the valuation experts CAP, it shows a 40 percent in residual value over a standard Defender.
