Model maker, René Štika recently exhibited his version of the Chelsea Truck Company Defender Wide Track model 110 at the 24th annual Model Hobby fair which took place in the Czech Republic.
Much to his delight; Rene's 110 CTC Defender, complete with Kahn branding, was selected as model of the year.
Judges paid tribute to René for building the structure of the steel chassis and implementing an S7T electric motor, combined with a Li-poly battery and transmission model.
The body was made of plastic and painted in acrylic black exterior, and a combination of functional brake lights, indicators, fog and license plate lights ensured René beat 49 other competitors in various model ranges to emerge victorious.
René and his team were understandably elated upon receiving the much coveted prize, having spent over 500 hours to build the model: “The model expo has been a great success; our D110 Kahn was selected as a model of the year,” said René.
“We are hoping to see some great development from our side and we are looking forward to visiting Kahn H.Q and showing the team the winning model.”
The Chelsea Truck Company Defender models are popular amongst model makers worldwide, with Herman Nijhof of Holland and Alexey Savchenko who hails from Moscow, being the most prominent experts.
Chelsea Truck Company would like to take this opportunity to congratulate René and his team.
